Thomas Beatie Accused Wife of Crotch Assault

Thomas Beatie may be separated from wife Nancy, but the drama between the self-proclaimed Pregnant Man and his mate of nine years is far from over.

Based on court documents obtained by TMZ, Beatie has filed for divorce and claims in the papers that Nancy attacked him on various occasions.

In February of this year, for example, she allegedly cursed Thomas out and shoved him because he tried to stop her, while "visible intoxicated," from driving the couple's three kids to daycare.

Thomas Beatie and Wife

"She hit me in the crotch," Beatie says on a 911 call made in regard to this incident.

A month before this encounter, Thomas says Nancy woke up and simply started punching him.

"This night, like every night, [Nancy] hovers over me, threatening me with physical and emotional abuse," he writes in the court documents.

Nancy - who was barred by a judge last month from going near Thomas or the kids - has responded by filing her own papers, which deny Beatie's allegations and state that he's the one who has gotten physical with her. Another hearing is scheduled for May 7.

Shape Security: Kleiner Perkins & TomorrowVentures Lead $6M Round In Stealth Security Startup

Screen shot 2012-04-26 at 3.57.21 AMBig corporations have been riddled by security attacks over the past year, and hackers are seemingly only becoming bolder and more resolute. As a result, market research firm The Radicati Group said that it expects the corporate web security market to grow to $2.5 billion over the next four years. It's in this climate that a young, stealth startup is trying to put companies back on the offensive, and some notable Silicon Valley investors are buying in. Mountain View-based Shape Security is announcing this morning that it has raised $6 million in series A financing, led by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt's TomorrowVentures. Accel Partner Peter Wagner, Sequoia Limited Partner Guarav Garg, Baseline Ventures, and unnamed executives at LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook also participated in the round.

30 Seconds To Mars Prepping Fourth Album

Singer Jared Leto has 50 songs to choose from for band's untitled next effort.

Last we heard from 30 Seconds to Mars, the band was battling rumors about a potential break while celebrating a record-setting
December live show in New York.

But after a few months of radio silence, not only are 30STM not taking time off, they're forging ahead with their fourth album. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, singer Jared Leto said the group's "excitedly working in the studio."

In fact, Leto said he's been quietly toiling away writing and recording "constantly" as he crafts the band's future. He's clearly been busy, as the singer revealed that he's written 50 songs and is finalizing a list of producers for the as-yet-untitled effort, including M83's Morgan Kibby.

"She came by and was playing some synths and doing some programming," Leto said of a recent visit from the French electronica group's keyboard player. "She's a real talent. We're working with some interesting people." Leto is once again producing, though in addition to potentially working with Kibby the band is reuniting with legendary producer Steve Lillywhite.

No street date has been set for the follow-up to 2009's This Is War, but in a release announcing the new album Leto promised that the sound would be a "dramatic departure from the past ... very orchestral, narrative, interactive and even more electronic than previous projects." The trio — which also includes Shannon Leto and Tomo Milicevic — are laying down the tracks in their Los Angeles studio, named "ICAASS," for International Center for the Advancement of the Arts and Sciences of Sound, while also incorporating "site specific recordings" in such varied locations as India, Africa, Yosemite, the California desert and Europe.

After teaming with Kanye West for the War track "Hurricane," Leto told RS that he'd love to work with Eminem this time around, as well as Bjö, the Cure's Robert Smith and Sigur Rós.

Following their record-setting string of 309 shows on the War tour, the group will not play any gigs in 2012, but will broadcast a live performance from their studio on April 27th via Leto's new website, VyRT.net. The gig will feature old favorites, previews of new material, a sneak peek at their new documentary, "ARTIFACT," acoustic jams and some fan Q&A. Digital "tickets" for the show are available on the vyRT site.

HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE outed on DroidDoes site

Droid Incredible 4G LTE

Update: And it's been pulled. But not quickly enough.

We've been hearing rumors of a third Droid Incredible for some time, and today it looks like the device has been outed a little early on Verizon's "Droid Does" site. Head to droiddoes.com/droidincredible4g? and sure enough, you'll find images and specs for the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE.

The new Incredible's specs are a close match of one of HTC's new high-end GSM phones, the One S. It's got a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU, a 4-inch qHD SuperLCD display, and on the software side it's running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and Sense 4. It's rocking the same dual and rear camera setup as the One S too, with a VGA front-facer and an 8MP rear camera, presumably the same HTC ImageSense shooter that's found on the manufacturer's other 2012 handsets. The site says it'll come in at $299 on contract, which is in line with other leading Verizon devices.

We've got a full list of specs after the break. But do note that we're still waiting on official word from Verizon, so specs and pricing could still change.

Thanks @joshgatewood!

The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 4 Premiere Recap: High Tides, Low Blows

The Real Housewives of New Jersey are back and the feuding continues, but this time they're leaving their McMansions and taking it down to the Jersey shore.

Let's assess all the cussing, name calling, and backstabbing in THG +/- review!

It looks like no one has talked much since Teresa Guidice's infamous cookbook came out. Between the digs about her being as Italian as the Olive Garden and rehashing her son's brilliant idea for a strip car wash, Caroline Manzo is still pretty ticked off.

The Real Housewives of NJ

The two women end up meeting at a party at Jacqueline's and Caroline's doing an admirable job of freezing Teresa out but Teresa wants to talk. She says she wants to clear the air. Minus 10 because why wait for a family party to do that?

Why not just pick up the phone or go on over to Caroline's? I suppose the show wouldn't be fun if any of it made sense.

So Teresa apologizes…sort of.

"I think you misread it because if you really read it good you'd realize I didn't insult you." Really?  hat's your idea of an apology? Telling someone you didn't read it good? Minus 15 and I'm not even counting the grammar issues.

Teresa just keeps repeating that it was all a joke but Teresa's the only one who finds it funny.

And apparently this is not a good time to be messing with Caroline. She's going though menopause and isn't thrilled when her doctor tells her she's getting old. Plus 8 because even she admits she may go super bitch on someone who crosses her right now.

But it's the start of a long season and Caroline agrees to co-exist and move forward. Let's see how long that lasts.

Melissa Gorga seems to be serious about getting along with her crazy sister-in-law. She doesn't even want to hear about the cookbook anymore so Plus 7 for making the effort. But Kathy's husband Rich can't help but cause trouble and brings it up every chance he gets.

Of course even Melissa's resolve is tested when her hubby tells her that Teresa says Melissa would leave Joe in a heartbeat if a richer guy came along. When Joe asked her why she said it, Teresa's response is she heard it somewhere. Minus 11. The more Teresa talks the more I think she's nothing but stupid and mean.

The whole crew, minus the Manzo's travel down to the Jersey shore for the weekend and we get quite the inside view of the Guidice home as they prepare for their trip.

Teresa's yelling for Gia to help find her sister's iTouch and the little one is calling Gia a stupid whore. But Teresa did make her say she was sorry. Seriously?!?

The kid's about six years old and she's calling her sister a stupid whore! What's she going to be saying when she's 13? Minus 22. Sorry indeed.

On the car trip down, Joe tells Teresa that he didn't come home because he was hanging out with some girls the night before…but it was a business thing.

Yeah, even 11-year-old Gia isn't buying it. And that's the bigger problem. Gia's not a baby and she's not an idiot. I can only imagine what the kids at school say to her. They read the magazines and watch TV and there's so much stuff out there now.

So how does Teresa choose to handle it? By sticking her head in the sand the way she does everything else. Teresa and Joe decide the kids are too young to understand so why bother talking to them about it. Minus 15.

Umm, when your 11-year-old has to ask why the magazine cover says Daddy's cheating you've got big problems.

Joe's response to all this. He tells Gia to shut up and tells Teresa she knew this was the life when she signed on. Joe's a jackass who's never going to change. Minus 13.

And that gives me a new word to describe Teresa. To mean and stupid you can add sad. Very, very sad.

Next to the Guidices, the Gorgas appear almost normal and isn't that scary. Joe is teaching Gino how to use the potty like a big boy. As much as Joe Gorga makes my skin crawl on occasion, he seems like a good dad who adores his kids and his wife so Plus 12 for that.

But what was he thinking about that shore house? It's going to be perfectly nice once it's done but those kids can't stay there now with the construction equipment and the green pool. Minus 9.

Joe tries to tell Teresa that he'll be there for her if her husband goes to prison but somehow it ends up in a mess of misunderstandings. Minus 5. What else is new.

Back at Jacqueline's she's see a life coach to try and deal with the mess Ashley is making of her life and the ripple effect it's having on everyone else. Ash is now platinum blonde and getting tattoos and piercings.

The girl looks like a spoiled 15-year-old acting out not a 20-something starting her life and it's taking it's toll on Jacqueline and Chris' marriage.

So what's the solution? Chris has agreed to send Jacqueline away to relatives in Las Vegas? Plus 10. At least he didn't buy her another car. He's finally doing something but is this just pushing the problem off on somebody else? Maybe the change of scenery will help but will we really not see Ashley this season?

Somehow I'm sure the rest of the cast will give us so much drama that we won't even miss her.

Hands on with the Spotify for Android update preview

Spotify for Android

For me, Spotify is how I listen to probably 75% of any music at the moment. While the service -- and for that matter price -- is superb, the Android application has definitely been lacking. There have been rumblings for a while about an update, and then just like that it dropped. The preview of the newest version is only available as a direct download from Spotify at present, and isn't the finished article. What is there though is pretty special, and a significant upgrade from the previous offering. We've had a couple of days to play around with it now, so if you haven't tried it out yet, stick around. A full hands on plus some tasty screenshots await you after the break.

Huawei Ascend G312 (U8680) lands at FCC, unsurprisingly sports T-Mobile myTouch moniker

Image

It's far from a secret that T-Mobile has been cooking up its next myTouch handset with Huawei (also known as the Ascend G312), and now a phone bearing the same moniker has landed at the door of the FCC. According to the label location diagrams, it plays nice with HSPA, UMTS, GPRS, GSM and Edge, but there's no indication of whether this Huawei U8680 is the QWERTY variant we spotted at the company's headquarters. If you'll recall, Huawei has this 4-inch (WVGA) device pegged to ship with Android Ice Cream Sandwich, running atop a 1.4GHz Qualcomm MSM8255T SoC with 1GB of RAM that's supplemented by 4GB of on-board storage. Of course, this doesn't leave us with any more information about when T-Mobile will officially debut this next-gen myTouch, but for now, you can can view the currently available FCC documents at the source link below.

Brits Love Their Pets ? Or Not

Posted by: in Pets on April 19th, 2012

A new study estimates that more than 260,000 dogs and cats were sent to UK rescue shelters in 2009, the first full year of the worldwide recession.

Dogs and cats are popular pets in the UK and two of the authors of the new estimate study, Dr. Jane Murray and Professor Tim Gruffydd-Jones, having previously estimated the owned cat and dog populations at approximately 10.3 and 10.5 million respectively.

Over 1,550 welfare organizations were contacted by post, email or telephone between November 2010 and June 2011. They were asked to provide details including the number of cats and dogs currently being cared for, whether they were operating at full capacity and for how much of the year they were full and how many cats and dogs entered their care during a full year (2009).

One of the questions asked on the survey was why people relinquished their pets but those answers were not always recorded by the organizations receiving pets, under a no questions asked policy, and there was some suggestion that responses given by relinquishing owners may not always be accurate. Although from the responses received it became apparent that changes in household circumstances and behavior problems were particular concerns.

From the responses received it was estimated that 131,070 cats and 129,743 dogs entered the care of UK welfare organizations during 2009. In addition, 66 per cent of responding organizations that cared for cats and 47 per cent of those caring for dogs were full to capacity for 12 months of the year. Obviously they could do what PETA does and just kill 85 percent of the pets they rescue but they dont.

Maybe Brits really do love their pets more ? or at least British animal advocacy groups do.

The survey highlights the considerable size of the rescue cat and dog populations and the need for improving neutering rates, decreasing behavioral problems and better education of potential pet owners about responsible ownership and the long-term commitment that is needed.

Secret Service to oust 3 more, W.H. rebukes Palin

(AP Photo/J. Scott Applewhite, File)The Secret Service announced on Friday that three more employees are leaving the agency in the midst of the investigation into the Colombian prostitution scandal, as the White House accused Republican critics like Sarah Palin of trying to use the controversy as a political weapon against President Barack Obama.

The announcement brings the total of those ousted to six.

The Secret Service initially put 11 of its employees on paid administrative leave in response to the incident, barring them from agency facilities and confiscating their official identification and weapons. On Friday, The Associated Press reported that a twelfth employee was put on leave. The scandal has also caught up 11 military personnel. The scandal erupted when the members of the Secret Service and the military were in Cartagena, Colombia on the sidelines of an international summit attended by Obama ? though there has yet to be any suggestion that his security was in any way compromised by agents in compromising situations.

At the White House, spokesman Jay Carney hit back sharply at Republican former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin after she charged that the scandal and the controversy over wanton spending at the General Services Administration (GSA) were brought on by Obama's "poor management skills."

"It is preposterous to politicize the Secret Service," Carney told reporters at his daily briefing.

Palin and Republican Sen. Jeff Sessions have in recent days charged that the scandal, coupled with the outrage over lavish GSA spending on a convention in Las Vegas,?reflects poorly on Obama. Those two controversies, as well as the tragic mass slaying of Afghan civilians, allegedly by an American soldier, have overshadowed much of the White House's agenda in recent weeks.

"What they're doing is trying to turn these incidents?one that's still under investigation?to political advantage," Carney charged when asked about critics who lump the three issues together. "On the face of it, it's a ridiculous assertion that trivializes both the very serious nature of the endeavor that our military is engaged in in Afghanistan and the very serious nature both of the work that the Secret Service does, the apolitical nature of the institution, and the seriousness of the investigation under way," the spokesman said.

Palin weighed in on the scandal on Fox News Channel late Thursday after The Washington Post reported that David Chaney, one of two agents removed as a result, reportedly posted a photograph of himself guarding the former Republican vice presidential candidate during the 2008 campaign and captioned it "I was really checking her out, if you know what i mean?"

"Well, check this out, bodyguard. You're fired," Palin quipped.

"You know, the president, for one, he better be wary there of?when Secret Service is accompanying his family on vacation. They may be checking out the first lady instead of guarding her.?And I say that not just tongue-in-cheek, but I say that seriously, that the president, the CEO of this operation called our federal government has got to start cracking down on these agencies! He is the head of the administrative branch and all these different departments in the administration that now people are seeing things that are so amiss within these departments."

"The buck stops with the president. And he's really got to start cracking down and seeing some heads roll. You know, he's got to get rid of these people at the head of these agencies where so many things, obviously, are amiss," she said. "Our president has poor management skills."

Carney sidestepped questions about potential disclosure of sensitive information as well as whether the scandal was an isolated incident or a symptom of a broader problem in the culture of the Secret Service, which was investigating the incident.

"The President does not want to, and I certainly don't want to, get ahead of the conclusions of the investigation, make broader judgments while the investigation is still underway," Carney said.

[This post was updated at 6:30 p.m. ET to reflect the announcement from the Secret Service about the additional departures and to add that the AP reported a twelfth agent was put on leave.]

Why Having The Best Web Site Host Makes A Difference | Online ...

?

Every person who is looking to build a website needs to have a website host. Website hosts and websites go hand in hand as without a website host, you cannot host a website. However, due to increasing competition, there are many companies that provide hosting services, which makes it essential for everyone who is looking to host a website to be careful and consider many things before making the final decision. There are many benefits that a good website host can provide you with.

Firstly, there are some things that you need to look for in a website host. These things will make your website run smoothly. For instance, if you did not get the Fantastico script along with your hosting to run your blog, you will definitely overlook the top most blogging platforms such as Joomla hosting and WordPress. This will be disadvantageous for you so you should carefully assess the features that you need in you package.

Secondly, the best website host or a good website host provides you with enough space for hosting your website that you won?t have to worry about your site lagging due to increased traffic. Visitors will immediately leave your site and look for a better option if they find your loads and hosting slow. Moreover, lack of space will create problems for not only you but also your visitors, so it is always better to opt for a website host that provides you with greater space, more than your requirements.

Another thing you should put into consideration is customer support. Customer support is necessary when it comes to website hosts in case your website goes down. There are many companies that claim to provide top customer support services but in actuality, they are making these claims in vain. You can also double check the customer support service of a website host by giving them a call or emailing them. Finding the right and best hosting company will enable you to turn into a very successful entity on the internet. With so much competition, being successful on the web is not easy which is why things such as a good web host and others, that will determine the fate of your website, should be carefully thought and selected.

Moreover, before selecting the web host provider, you should do some careful research on the internet. There are many websites on the internet that provide excellent reviews about different web hosting companies. You should make sure that you look into these reviews to assure you are making the best choice for your company and website. Choosing a bad website host won?t end the world because you can always switch over but switching over to another web host is a daunting task. Therefore, it is advisable to make the right choice the first time. By putting careful considerations into account, you should then move ahead with the final decision about the web host company you are going to select for your website.

Sony patent proposal ponders planting physicians inside your plasma

Image

Remember when Sony said it would "unify" its product lines and consider going into the medical device business? Well, we've unearthed this patent application from 2010 that does that just. A wireless wristband monitors your heart rate, vitals and blood glucose levels, and beams that information to your TV over infra-red. Your data will then update in real time for you to watch of an evening, if it's a choice between that and Gossip Girl, at least. Moreover, if your TV is web-connected, it could even send emergency messages to your local HMO if the conclusion of your favorite show / sporting event sends you into chest-clutching fits of apoplexy.
